The Final Countdown

I am finally finished with the last pictures from the summer trip  to the cabin.  This seems fitting since the summer is coming to a close now.  The trails near Meyer’s Creek are a favorite of our family at this pointDSC02702.  There’s variety of trees in the area that mingle in a unique wayDSC02703and tiny butterflies are varied too and they enjoy the flowers as much as I doDSC02704.  Further beyond this point there has been bear sign that makes me nervous but it’s a temptation to go further at timesDSC02705.  Wild flowers…common or not are always amazing to meDSC02707and once I see something through my lens that grabs me I want to keep walking down the roadDSC02709.  I love the golden grain that pull of the color so wellDSC02710.  My target practice is strictly for none living thingsDSC02711.  I wouldn’t consider shooting birds…especially not critters like this Cedar WaxwingDSC02713.  Flower shops make bouquets but nature does it betterDSC02714.  I heard these flowers can kill cattleDSC02715but they’re beautiful to see.  Who doesn’t love Brown Eyed SuzannesDSC02716?  Occasionally the rain clouds shroud the mountainsDSC02717and I feel like I’m standing in the set for “The Lord of the Rings”DSC02718.  The flowers don’t mind the moisture one bitDSC02719.  Sun, rain or snow matters little to the fences that ever stand vigilant no matter the seasonDSC02720.  Evergreens also have a timelessness that I appreciateDSC02721.  Even the weathered fallen pinecones retain a beauty all their ownDSC02722.  Our time grew to a close…soon we were to leaveDSC02724.  The carpets of butterflies drinking from puddles couldn’t care lessDSC02725.  To nature it was just another sunsetDSC02726but for me it had a melancholy sadness mingled with the hope of a return in the futureDSC02727 .

  5. I really loved this walk with you Joe , just as you see it in your eyes and heart. Your photos are beyond lovely.
The one that kills cattle I dont know unless its foxglove but there are many. One looks like a yellow snap dragon called tote flax. We have it here. Your an inspiriation for me to get out and beyond my gate. Thanks for that. I need it and badly. The world is getting scary and its safe where I am. I might go to a gated park this weekend but not sure.
    Blessings Joe. You blessed me.

    1. I'm so glad you visited Lisa. I think floxglove may be the name of that flower...sounds familiar. My trouble is now there won't be much outside to take pictures of that's far away for me...season's end :(

    1. Thanks for that about the music. It's usually random selections from what I'm listening to at the time. It's more complex to add it now but I think it's worth it.

  10. So many of the flowers we have here in our area as well. What serene moments. I just love the countryside there. It is very similar to our near our town. Rolling hills and ranches spotted about. Thanks for sharing your wonderful memories. Hugs Carrie
