Butterfly & Severe Weather

‘Tis the season for both beauty and severity I’d say for sure.  Let’s start with beauty shall we?  We had a visitor recently of the variety my little girl dearly lovesDSC02398.  This butterfly seemed to have come out of it’s cocoon with a wing not quite ready for flight but its beauty was unmarred in our mindsDSC02399.  I love seeing things through my daughter’s eyes.  The simplest weed has all the beauty of an orchid to herDSC02400.  Each thing we see holds an innocent wonderDSC02401but all too soon we are reminded not all there is in this world is kind and whimsicalDSC02402 .  Severe storms approached on all sides once againDSC02403.  The sickly green hues and rotation of these storms after all that’s happened in Oklahoma make a person wonder if we’re really going to get it this timeDSC02404.  I have an app on my i-touch that sounds an alarm when dangerous weather comes along…this time it was a tornado warning…fortunately it was for a nearby country and not us.  It still made my heart jump…I admit it!  Now it’s been raining for about two days…ugh.  The bright side is my older daughter got her test results and she passed all tests with flying colors!  We head to Florida for almost two weeks in just under two weeks time.  Now we go without the concerns of those test results…my eldest daughter with an easy heart knowing her graduation is official and my youngest being thrilled for the whole prospect of Disney World and whatever else we may see.  My son is excited too.  Come what may I’m so thankful to God!

Cant wait to hear about your trip to fla., hope you all have a great time, drink lots of water as the humidity is beyond fierce and the only thing that will help you is making sure you are hydrated !!!!

    1. Thanks Beth. I knew she'd do great but she was nervous about it. This is a great jump start to the coming trip for sure! Humidity and I never have gotten along but I'll do what I must.

  2. Congratulations on the test results. I love your photos here...including the storm ones! Personally, it is quite humid here in Montreal right now and I really don't do well in humid temperatures. Thank God for air conditioning and I try to drink a lot of water, as I get dehydrated very easily. I so enjoy your posts. Thank you so much for sharing.

    1. It's a pleasure to share my friend, thank you for making it so satisfying to do so! I'm not much for humidity either. It's unusually wet here right now but it's supposed to warm and dry off a little soon I think.

    1. Hey my friend, I use two apps and both are on my I-touch so it would work on the I-phone as well. One I use is mostly for how amazing it looks. It's called Clear Day but the other which gave me the alarm is called simply: weather. It's by Wunderground.com and is really a very nice, practical and free app.

    1. Thank you so much my friend. You're sure right about the expenses. We have family there now that we will stay with which really helps expenses...we're very grateful to God for the opportunity.

    1. Thanks Carole, we're still debating what we will do once we get there. Universal Studios is still a popular choice and the budget will determine some things as well. Thank you for the prayers.

  7. You know I meant to say that I loved what you said about viewing the world through your little girl's eyes. That the veriest weed has the beauty of an orchid..and so many other stainless and pure perceptions unspoiled children have. They appreciate what many adults fail to see. And things that many adults find "beneath" their notice. To enjoy and share the sense of wonder that a child has is an experience worthy of living.

    1. Beneath notice...you really said a mouthful there my friend. I think we many times have a lot to learn from a new perspective...whether from children or not. Bless you, I always appreciate you Carole.

    1. That was such a beautiful creature...amazingly willing for us to get close. The clouds...man, they've been wild but we've gotten nothing scary from them...wonder if that will last.
