Severe Outlook

Our first major storm of the season came in with a rumbleDSC03306.  Frankly I’d never seen or more accurately seen a storm quite like thisDSC03307.  The rumble of thunder was literally constant as this beast approachedDSC03308.  Reports of large hail were coming in so when it started we were not surprisedDSC03309.  Reports of golf ball hail was everywhere so I think you could say we were blessedDSC03310.  Thankfully our cars were in the garageDSC03311.  Our siding is steel fortunately but the screens…well…DSC03312.  Lots of hail in a short amount of timeDSC03313.  I hate to see the new leaves get hammered.  Next day was quietDSC03314and that’s when I noticed our fenceDSC03315…new peep holesDSC03316.  Hopefully our trees recoverDSC03317.  It’s a rough start to the Northwest’s storm season.

  1. Spring time test the resolve of many. We get these on occasion. Hail to softball size and bigger and those things called tornadoes.
Time to batten the hatches and hope for the best.

  2. The third picture of the clouds above the houses is very impressive. And that hail is big already, just look at all the damage it has done! I'm happy to hear you're safe! And I sure hope there won't be too many storms like this for you. Stay safe!

    1. Thank you my friend, it's a wild and stormy time of year to be sure. I've a fascination with such storms. When I was younger I lived in Tulsa, OK which is known as tornado alley...storms there are to be feared...especially tornadic ones.

  4. I experienced clouds like that in MO. It is frightening no knowing what the storm will do. Oh gosh a hole in fence and screens. I hope those storms simmer down for you and the country. Great photos by the way.
