A New Beginning

I’m always somehow surprised when another new year rolls in.  For the last eight years my little girl’s birthday ends the year and begins anotherDSC02971.  Watching her stand behind a mound of presents makes me realize how quickly time fliesDSC02970.  I’m a very forward looking person and somehow I always want the new beginning to be something other  than the snow and cold we’ve already been havingDSC02973.   Fall and winter haven’t been all that different thus farDSC02974.  Rolling stones gather no moss but sitting benches certainly gather snowDSC02975.  The bright side is our mounds of new snow make it look like a clean new slateDSC02976.  Simply moving forward in time doesn’t necessarily change our lives that muchDSC02977.  Temperatures rise and fall…happiness comes and goesDSC02978yet there’s a window beyond all of this that is something far more eternal…the realm of joy and peace that passes all understandingDSC02979.  Basing life on circumstances is foolish in the best of times…who but God can say what tomorrow holds?  For all the blessings you’ve received in 2013…pay it forward.  For all the difficulties…may they be left behind.  May 2014 be doubly blessed for you allDSC02980!

  5. Wow that much after Christmas. What a lucky girl. I tell you Joe in winter that snow might sometime be a pain, but it surely does brighten the day and add some light to it. Better then looking out over the dark gloomy colors that would exist without it. Wishing you and your family a wonderful safe warm winter. I will be flying south soon and taking a leave from the internet for a while. I think we will be getting one more good dump of snow for good measure before we leave. Hugs..
