Beyond the Eggs & Candy

Easter has come and gone.  The egg coloring is finished.  The creative process involved in the egg decorating is all but forgotten.  The egg hunting is done.  They have all been found at this point…at least hopefully.  The bright art on the driveway is a testament to a wonderful time the kids had…at least here the flowers still bloom.  The star of the day remains beyond the things that have nothing to do with Easter.  Christ and the reason for the season remain beyond the day for me.  I’m so thankful to know what it’s all about…this celebration doesn’t pass for us though we no longer are counting the eggs.  Now the eggs go in soups or salads.  This seems a rather anticlimactic end for such brightly colored eggswhich makes me all the more blessed when it’s all said and done because I can still celebrate each day knowing just what Christ did for me.  He’s so much more than just and egg.
