Spring’s Advance

I know it may not always look like it but spring will come along sooner or later.  We have had days that give hope of warmer weather to come then a smack down that makes you wonder if we’ll ever see spring show itself at allDSC02339.  Still, there’s something about the light that hints of warmer times to comeDSC02340.  I can’t put my finger on it always but each season has it’s own type of sunlightDSC02341and right now I notice the change from winter to something elseDSC02342.  There are foods that remind me of the season change too.  Lovely has been making salads with fruit in it…this one strawberries and mangoDSC02346.  Our salamander is coming out every so often too…a sure sign better weather is out there somewhereDSC02347.  Beyond all of this is the recent explosion of buds on the treesDSC02349.  Have you ever been outside feeling the warmth of the sun on your face and seeing the light greens that only spring can bringDSC02351when you feel so blessed to be alive?  I feel that right nowDSC02352.   Come what may there’s always something out there that’s good.  Easter looks like it may be anything but pleasant weather wise but I’m going to take today and enjoy every last moment of it!

  1. Wow that's a beautiful salamander! Well since the weather is not looking like spring, maybe we can just treat spring as a state of mind? :)

    1. Well my friend it may appear bright but sometimes I think that is exactly why I give myself a week between posts...I need the time to find a little blue in the gray so to speak! Have a blessed Easter!

    2. HE is F-A-T! The Salamander! FAT!

I agree..there is something to the light that hearlds Spring and also Fall. Coincidentally my 2 favorite times of the year but in Soring..along about mid March you see the sun slanting down a certain angle in the morning and in the evening. It makes me smile. BUT so do the longer slanting beams in the Fall. Seeing that makes me excited for the coming winter and a brand new year about to come within a few months..whereupon it all starts again. I love the nature- beauty theat The Lord provides.

    3. Why Carole...I'm glad Sal can't hear you say he's fat! This may send a shudder through the whole salamander community! He likes to stay under his water dish where he digs a cave and not eat for days and days at a time...methinks they have a far different metabolism then we do. I love the season's change too...reason to rejoice when it's heading to warmer and lighter days IMO.
