Remnants

Have you ever felt that you’re in a bubble that popped but somehow the effect of that is something you’re still waiting for?  I’ve had that sort of insulated feeling for some time and can’t get past the sense that all too soon now the other shoe is going to fall and when it does absolutely everything will change.  Truth is not something will align itself with you rather you must choose to align with it.  We’ve claimed to believe things but what will shine through when the smoke clears?  Will we even be the same people?  I think we’re going to find out what we’re really made of as a nation and as individual people.  As usual I find parallels to everything in life.  The weather has been wildly different from week to week.  We had a big cool down with snow one momentDSC02135things went from warm to cold and from brown to whiteDSC02136.  It was the blink of an eye and all seemed to no longer be fall at all anymore…winter seemed to have arrived out of the blueDSC02137.  I thought I’d have to get used to winter and then once again the bubble burst that had seemed so solid and warmer days came backDSC02138…could this be the same world?  The snow that was looking like it would stick around was on the way outDSC02139.  Now once again the sides have shifted and now winter is on the ropes againDSC02140.  Just when I thought I had it all figured out the shift came again.  This is really striking to me.  The natural mind falls short and secular consideration minus spirituality fails.  Take stock in that which has value…value that is not fleeting.  We’ve thought we would remain unaffected and it’s easy to believe that but I know that I know change is coming on swift wings and what has seemed solid today could melt like the snow tomorrowDSC02141.  Something think faith is not reliable but I believe it’s the most reliable thing in the world.

  1. We have been cold here, not near as cold as you of course and no near cold enough for snow and ice but that hasnt stopped me from building a fire none the less , i love a fire in the fire place ! Ironically , we are seeing changes and even the left arent liking them, i find it quite funny when i read huff post articles about places that are raising their prices to cover the extra cost they will pay out due to Obama care and those same people who were so for this are now wanting people to boycot anyone who has to pass the cost along to the consumer lmao , are they that stupid that they really thought it was going to be free lmao....ignorance really is bliss !!!

    1. Most changes that are coming aren't likeable nor are they free. My hope would be that it could be spotted yet I heard more rhetoric blaming presidents past for the Mid-East mess...my gosh, who buys into that crap? Yeah, a lot of bad things are being paid forward and it's not pleasant.

  2. here is the craziest thing i have had to deal with in the last couple weeks,,,,a young man that we have known about 4 years messaged me a couple days before the election, said, hey, i see all your post but i hear Romney wants to shut down the RR and take away our retirement ( we helped him get a job at the RR in Cleveland Oh ). I asked where he heard that and he said everyone there was talking about it that a group of people had told some of the workers that Romneys plan was to shut the RR down, take away retirements, also take away medicare and so on and so on so that tells you the group was Liberal, i proceeded to tell him that was crazy that these people are trying to scare them into voting for Obama and that Romney has never mentioned that but i would be worried that Obama is interested in shutting down coal, and i asked him, of all the cars that come thru what is loaded in them ,, he replied, coal, i said, well if there is no more coal being shipped why would they need you, and if they dont need you and you have no job, rr retirement isnt any interest to you anyway....well the day before the election, he messages again, he says , i dont know what group these people are from but they are Obama supporters but they did swear that Romney is going to fight to shut down the RR , everyone here is voting for Obama, no one want to lose their job,,,,i told him, do your own research, do not listen to these people...well next day, he messaged, said he voted, i didnt ask who for, i just said, glad you did, well guess what RR had a layoff and what line they sent home LMAO, i shouldnt laugh cause it really isnt funny but i bet some people wish that they could track down a few folk and choke them !!! people have to stop being gullible .

    1. I get the impression few voted in such a way that really knew the facts and that's such a dangerous thing. We are being pummeled in this state by the Keystone hold ups and I don't know what's going to happen when they shut down our options for heat then refuse to use what we could. God help us.

  3. As I grow old I sensed change every now an then, and it did when I wasn't ready for it. It seems now so long ago I could do many things and one day I woke up and couldn't get up. Your daughter has grown into a young lady and I bet you weren't ready for that eh? This Sunday is my BD, and I am not ready for that new number either. I look back and wonder just how I have lived my life. Faith, your spiritual being is important. Love your post my friend. As always.

    1. Change...the only constant I've heard. I think that as I've grown older the comfort of us not being alone in this life has made more and more of a difference. God bless and keep you dear Toodie! Thanks for just doing what you do!

  5. In essence it is faith that keeps us all going stronger each time we think we have had just about enough. Seasons change and with it comes the good and the bad either way in life/ We either stand a bit stronger in what we believe or crumble . Joe I have seen great change in you and I guess you have in me. You have been a blessing . I enjoyed your blog and really read this at the time I needed too. Thanks for that. Have the most beautiful weekend my friend.

  7. Yes, faith is enduring and for those of us who have it..an ever present thing to hold to and gain from.

We are having normal weather right now...hope it keeps up. I hate the too warm winters as we had last year.

    1. I have never felt like this in any time of my life. Faith isn't extra credit...it's a necessity. Our weather is quite odd...tomorrow they say nearly seventy degrees...strange indeed.

  8. Seems change is inevitable, and nothing ever stays the same. And without Faith we would loose hope and perish. Faith gives us Hope that no matter what happens in this life, God has a plan, and a purpose that nothing can prevail against it. We are a part of His Plan and He is our Strong Hold. That doesn't mean things will be easy for us, and yes I do believe this world is changing rapidly, and one day it will be evident that the world is not what it use to be, or dare I say it is truly not what it use to be. Yes, I believe we will be shaken and tested, but thank God we stand on the solid rock, named Jesus. We need to stick together ,and encourage one another in the Faith. May Jesus shine through us through the thick and thin.

Still no snow here. It has been fairly mild here, dipping around 0 to -1 Celsius at night. Sooner or later we will get some of the white stuff. I love the first snow fall and hope it arrives on a day when I am off work so I can get out and photograph it. :)
Any way, Joe, I want to wish you and your family a Happy Thanksgiving. God Bless.
    Dianne :)

  9. There is so such an insecure feeling right now in the air. So much turmoil being thrown out for many to deal with. Yes the feeling of when is the other shoe going to drop. Worry not my friend and have faith that whatever path is chosen for you will only strengthen your faith. Ah the weather is so every changing as well. We just had 2 days of heavy rain. I am so glad it wasn't snow. WE still have patches here and there. I made my weekly trip into town yesterday and our dirt road was a sheet of ice the whole out from the freezing rain. At least there was lots of gravel on it. I am normally a nervous anxious person this time of the year worrying about snow, but with our new plow I am feeling so much more relaxed over that situation now. Well hope you have a wonderful calm week. Hugs Carrie

    1. We had a really great session of prayer last night and I felt like I got the focus I've been needing from God in it all. I've actually been at peace deep down inside though I think very dark times are ahead...what I needed was some direction and that's just what I got. I remain truly grateful to God for it.

  10. I read this and a couple of your other posts the other day and tried to leave comments but it would not let me post...said I could not be verified....what does that mean??? lol So thought I would try again. I felt like I had been kicked in the gut after the election but soon realized that God's purpose is unknown and we just have to trust Him... I am hoping the church begins to awaken...He has given me a peace and a direction for myself and family. So we persevere and keep speaking truth in love to folks....win as many as we can to the kingdom. It won't be long, brother and we will get to meet face to face! Now that is a thought! Looks like you had a wonderful thanksgiving!!!

  11. I read a couple of your post the other day and try to comment but it won't let me use my wordpress account to sign in...keeps saying illegal characters or I can't be verified...yikes! Anyhow I felt like I got kicked in the gut after the election. But I soon realized that Gods ways are higher than our ways. My hope is the church will open its eyes and awaken. All we can do is persevere and win as many to the kingdom as possible. It won't be long now...at least I feel that in my bones...then we get to meet face to face!! That will be a hoot!!

    1. Sorry about the log in issues Michelle, not sure why that's happening. I'm totally with you on the election. If we can come away and pursue God's purpose with greater diligence not all is lost. I look forward more every day to His return!
