Here you must be on the lookout for bad weatherbecause you never know when it will take a rather drastic turn. I was heading out to walk when I observed this storms approach. I didn’t really expect more than heavy rainso I proceeded to walk a bit and click some pictures near the pond. My favorite sure sign of spring…the irrigation ditch. Gabby was near me navigating around the plentiful burrs. The left over cat tails look about shotbut I still like them. Finally the rumble of thunder pulled my attention away from another spring classic. You know it’s bad when you hear the roar of approaching hail before it arrives. Strangely most part of our town didn’t get hail…we definitely did…some was thumbnail size. There was a lot of it too. The window wells had a lot built up by the time the storm passed on. Sadly this heralded in a cold front with…you guessed it…our old ‘friend’ snow. Once the snow stopped cold rain came…and lasted for some time. Fortunately we have no garden yet…the hail and the cold would have done a number on it I think. Still, I like the drops…not the cold but the artistic reflective drops always pull me in. The birds continued to sing like we weren’t getting a weather relapseand I love that! It’s all only a reflection of winter past after all
These are wonderful pictures Joe! It is very hot here today and I have the air conditioner turned on. I hope we don't have a storm!

DeleteWow Joe it looks like all "hail" broke loose!! Sorry I couldn't resist :)
ReplyDeleteHa, ha, good one Keith! You could say I've been to 'hail' 'n back! Somebody stop us!

Deletelove it!
ReplyDeleteThanks Michelle!
DeleteI love these shots and how you captured the progress of the weather change! The clouds over the pond are amazing, so is the hail, and the rain is always fascinating (as long as I can watch it from inside ;).
ReplyDeleteYes, it's good to have shelter when such storms pass! We nearly went for a walk then changed our minds...good call I'd say!
