I have to say that I’m more than fed up with the Zimmerman trial at this point. Armchair lawyers abound and I always get the impression with it all that lady justice who’s supposed to be blind has been replaced by social justice…who is ever mindful of politics and seems to have both eyes wide open. I don’t see a positive outcome on this thing either way. We are preparing to go to a mountain cabin for a few days. I relish the thought of it. The heat here is quite high again…maybe the mountains will bring relief on more than one level. I still want to show some pictures of our trip to Florida. Visiting some neighborhoods there was so different then what I see in my home stomping grounds. We have our share of old trees but none of the type I saw there. Can you imagine having a cool glass of lemonade and swinging on this swing for a bit? Even the stop signs have a personality so different from ours. One area had a phone booth reminding me forcefully of England but then there was a palm tree there…strange. We spent some time in a store my wife wanted to visit. I think Lovely could have put some of these things to some great use with her various craft projects. How about a key to hang your keys on? We spent a little time by this great fountain before moving on. I’ve got to say I love St. Petersburg! Next we stopped for a bit at a nice park. Again I’m struck by how different it is from where we live. We do have squirrels however but I still like them no matter where I see them. Here in Montana we have to watch for bears or mountain lions…Florida…well, that’s different too. Did I mention how much I love palms. Here’s a panorama of the park. Last picture of the day: . Next I will show some pictures of a great flea market we visited…stay tuned!
Hi Joe, I love your photos! The stop sign is unique! The squirrel is so sweet. I also love the park panorama and that fountain!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you Linda, I thought you might like this post :)
DeleteThose are awesome photos Joe! I have only visited Florida once and that was many years ago.
ReplyDeleteI haven't been watching the Zimmerman trial. I think the Jodi Arias trial caused me to have a burnout. :-)
Have fun at your mountain retreat.
Glad you liked the photos my friend...I wondered if you've been watching the trial...I hear you about burn out. I hope to take plenty of pics on our upcoming journey.
DeleteThank goodness there are other things in life beside the corrupted media.
ReplyDeleteCulture differences have always been there as you point in pictures from Florida. Rather then bashing others for the differences, celebrate them, accept our differences.
Glad you have good memories from your trip.
I couldn't agree more John!
Deletethose are very beautiful pics.....the world is such a beautiful place.that park is just awesome!
ReplyDeleteIt truly was peaceful and beautiful. I still love to reflect on the memory of it.
DeleteHello Joe,
ReplyDeleteI love squirrels too and find most of God's creatures fascinating. I also love to be surrounded by flowers, bushes etc ectc and oh waterfalls lovely to gaze at. I hope you enjoy your trip - God Bless you and your family
Yesterday we bought the food and today we pack. It's a lot of work just to get out the door but I think it will be worth it. Thank you Nita.
DeleteLove the pictures. Remind me of such scenes when we've been there. Haven't watched the trial and am also tired of it. Regardless of the turnout not everyone is going to be happy and the lose of life of one and the ruination of another is a sad thing.
ReplyDeleteYou're right on the trial. No good way to come out of it at all. It makes the peaceful times something I'm very grateful for.
DeleteAmazing photos Joe!! I am actually visiting Florida next week - July 20th the 27th. Cape San Blas. It's on the gulf coast.
ReplyDeleteI bet you enjoy every moment of it! I hope to see some pictures!
DeleteBoy John said a mouthful there! Good for you John! And I happen to love alligators. I wish people would just accept that THEY are a part of life; entitled to be there so leave them alone while you are being cautios as to where to go in some areas. There's room for you and them.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE palm trees. ALL the varities. Loved living in FLorida but not crazy about the Wild African Pyton, a 10 footer, who is, as told on Animal Planet, "a killing machine". They are changing the life style in FL. more and more because the creep everywhere. You never know when you'll come out your door and there they are.
Alligators like all creatures deserve respect for sure. Here as with most states we have our share of potentially dangerous wildlife...it requires some common sense but even that won't necessarily a guarantee that no bad encounter will happen. I have heard so much about invading species in FL...the changing world we live in. We have been largely shielded thanks to our bitter winters.
DeleteJoe i want ..noo i need to use ur swing and thoughts on black.
ReplyDeletewind in the hairs and no thoughts I love the way u react on the trial. I agree with u 300%
enjoy the cabin and some peace for u and ur family
