I know it may not always look like it but spring will come along sooner or later. We have had days that give hope of warmer weather to come then a smack down that makes you wonder if we’ll ever see spring show itself at all. Still, there’s something about the light that hints of warmer times to come. I can’t put my finger on it always but each season has it’s own type of sunlightand right now I notice the change from winter to something else. There are foods that remind me of the season change too. Lovely has been making salads with fruit in it…this one strawberries and mango. Our salamander is coming out every so often too…a sure sign better weather is out there somewhere. Beyond all of this is the recent explosion of buds on the trees. Have you ever been outside feeling the warmth of the sun on your face and seeing the light greens that only spring can bringwhen you feel so blessed to be alive? I feel that right now. Come what may there’s always something out there that’s good. Easter looks like it may be anything but pleasant weather wise but I’m going to take today and enjoy every last moment of it!
Wow that's a beautiful salamander! Well since the weather is not looking like spring, maybe we can just treat spring as a state of mind? :)
ReplyDeleteHa, ha, I think you're right my friend...a state of mind is a very important thing...it effects everything! Thanks for the comment on "Sal" the salamander...he's got real character...of love the little guy..he's sort of our family mascot at this point ;)

DeleteYour right I agree with the change of light, even the moon seems different . We dont have buds yet, :( and still I have three feet of snow in my yard. The light birds are coming back before any big. Im watching and havent seen a goose or duck yet. Joe I cant wait for spring and to see some willows in bloom also. Lovely lovely color.
ReplyDeleteIt's amazing how the subtle changes in things can make such a difference! We walked yesterday as a family and it was so amazing out. Sadly it really does cool down for Easter then again it warms up. Thanks so much for stopping by Lisa.

Well my friend it may appear bright but sometimes I think that is exactly why I give myself a week between posts...I need the time to find a little blue in the gray so to speak! Have a blessed Easter!
DeleteHE is F-A-T! The Salamander! FAT!
DeleteI agree..there is something to the light that hearlds Spring and also Fall. Coincidentally my 2 favorite times of the year but in Soring..along about mid March you see the sun slanting down a certain angle in the morning and in the evening. It makes me smile. BUT so do the longer slanting beams in the Fall. Seeing that makes me excited for the coming winter and a brand new year about to come within a few months..whereupon it all starts again. I love the nature- beauty theat The Lord provides.
Why Carole...I'm glad Sal can't hear you say he's fat! This may send a shudder through the whole salamander community! He likes to stay under his water dish where he digs a cave and not eat for days and days at a time...methinks they have a far different metabolism then we do. I love the season's change too...reason to rejoice when it's heading to warmer and lighter days IMO.
DeleteI hope you had a great Easter Joe!
ReplyDeleteI certainly can't complain my friend, I pray you had a great one too!
DeleteA season of rebirth..I always love seeing the birds come back and the land turn lush and green. Long winter..long summer.. who knows.. I hope your week goes well.. ours will be all over from 20-50 I am seeing. Take care :-)
ReplyDeleteYes, things are awakening again and it's a joy to see. I see a day in the seventies out there...actual seventies! My son's birthday is in the second week of April...a big 14! Bless you CarolDee!
