It’s been pretty much snow free around here and when it does snow it doesn’t seem to be around all that long. One thing that is hanging around? Cool temperatures and frost that lingers throughout the day. One must take care of the ice that seems to form out of nowhere on the steps. The bright sun and blue sky still leaves cold in the shadows where frost powders the rocks. I guess on the bright side we don’t have to shovel the walk or mow the yard. We had a cold rain that froze leaving the standing water looking like it’s still wet however it’s mostly solid right now. The deck was about as dangerous as you want to get so I took only one photo from the bottom of the steps today. Ice does have its own charm in photos if you ask me…I think Jack is quite the artist. Cutting this rather short. Our family will see some Christmas lights on houses tonight and tomorrow we will all see “The Hobbit” which we’ve been looking forward to. My Mom read that to me as a young boy I loved it. My kids have enjoyed it and with the cost of movies these days this is a rarity for us all to go at once…Christmas has come a bit early and I appreciate it! Merry Christmas to all once again!
We had rather a spectacular display from Jack Frost, yesterday morning, I really should have taken photo's but didn't get round to it. However the scenes outside were very pretty.
ReplyDeleteHappy CHRISTmas to you too

DeleteYes Jack frost can be quiet the artist. We have has snow on the ground for about 3 weeks though not more then 3 or 4 inches. Just keeps sputtering a little at a time. Fine by me. Sounds like some wonderful family time ahead. Wishing you and your family a very blessed Christmas. Hugs Carrie

DeleteTolkien was a contemporary of CS Lewis, watch for the Christian allegory in the Hobbit.
ReplyDeleteFrost is so cool, God's canvas painting.
I love those themes used by both Lewis and Tolkien. These are the things that make true classics! The frost makes me think of something from Fantasia. Blessings to ya John!

I love the Winter photos, ice, snow, as long as I don't have to get out in it as it can be artistic as well as treacherous.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the movie. Have a blessed Christmas.
I don't have a nice kitty to keep my feet warm anymore but my heating pad does a fair job...it even warms me up enough to go out and take pictures like this once in a while. I've not had some nice hot chocolate in a while. The movie was wonderful! Merry Christmas as well my friend!
