Falling Down

I’ve been quite weary with politics lately, it seems it can be the most divisive thing in the whole world and with social media you can say what you want with little thought or consequence.  It’s times like that when I find comfort in a kinder  space that is my blog.  I was able to go out and enjoy the fall scenery again.  I wasn’t sure if it would happen since the wind has been horrendous for the last couple of days.  We have some beautiful trees right now but I thought they would be bald as can be by the time I got out there.  We have a storm drain that has seen virtually no action this year but the wind brought it some visitorsBlown Away 001.  The golden light of fall is one of the most wonderful things.  Morning is a delightful time to capture itBlown Away 002.  My very favorite tree almost glows when it’s contrasted with the brilliant blue skyBlown Away 003.  Gold leaves are the order of the day around here…it’s really quite breathtakingBlown Away 004.  Our deck is elevated well above the ground and the amazing trees are right next to the railingBlown Away 005.  Surprisingly the leaves have mostly been blown away rather than left in annoying piles on our yardBlown Away 006.  The front of our house is guarded by trees with very different fall colorsBlown Away 007…such a drastic change from the greens of spring and summer!  This morning the grass was crisp as it can get from frost.  The differing temperatures rolled leaves that remained…looks like fall cigars to meBlown Away 008.  I love how leaves from different trees can congregate together…seems like nature’s jigsaw puzzleBlown Away 009.  Finally a backward glance before going back insideBlown Away 010.  Life is beautiful…don’t let anything make it ugly for you.

  1. Those rolled leaves are unusual and they do resemble cigars. The yellow leaves are so pretty.

    1. I figure that the jump in temperature between day and night has a lot to do with that...such an interesting effect. I guess it's good to like yellow, that's seems to be our primary fall color!

  8. Hi There Joe
Politics hmm well we had elections last sunday (Belgium)
parties with the most votes are not yet the big ones. Smaller parties stick together and then the choosen ones have almost nothing to say. But i wonder We the ppl voted for the winners ..and Politics itself makes it different. How can we say we are democrats?
and abt autumn well u know be by now..I love the warmth of the sunbeams But same time i can enjoy the wonderful sunbeams falling trough the coloured trees. Wish u a nice weekend for ur family.

    1. This is quite different than other elections for us I think. Some are under the delusion that they are bot the same, they are not. I pray that all goes well for the country...I sense rough waters ahead. Have a nice weekend as well my friend.

    1. So glad you enjoyed it Carole! We had quite the hail storm today...I fear it may have about ruined my fall scene so I may have to get creative this week:/ Don't know what I'd do without you my friend, thanks for being just who you are!

  10. It seems you have a wonderful area for your walks. Some days I wish I were more out in the country instead of having the same old sights day in and day out. I have to admit that I'm not a big fan of winter either so I'm just as happy not to see pics of snow lol.

    1. It's not too bad though when I've walked it actually isn't there...I have a much smoother route for that. I'll likely take more than one for the team as far as snow is concerned...expect the griping to flow before too long!

  11. i feel your pain about the political process , seems this is the nastiest campaign i have ever seen, and i hope to never see another one so ruthless..Looks like winter will be rolling in for you soon. Fall here is confused, the temps sure can be erratic from day to day and i think nature is confused...less then two weeks and we can live and enjoy life again without the election madness, that is something to celebrate for sure ...

    1. I think I look forward to the election season being over (if it really is ever over anymore) being done at last. Fall is making up its mind here I think and the decision is in: give way to winter :(

  12. Hi Joe, I just love your Autumn pictures. What a Beautiful, vivid view of colors. I especially like the second photo from the top, and the way the sunlight shines through that tree. There is always that ray of Hope, and yes God is in control. He sees the whole picture and we only see bits and peaces, that can be hard to understand at times.
Well it won't be long now and the votes will be in. I hope and pray the right man wins. Either way times are a changing. Funny as I am typing this, that song is running through my head, "People Get Ready, Jesus Is Coming"
Love your last quote on the last line which says,Life is Beautiful.. don't let anything make it ugly for you. I will take that to heart as I have been struggling as of late. As you know I always try to be optimistic, and positive but even I have my moments.
As for Autumn, in the month of Oct. we only had 5 days of sunshine. The rest were gray skies and rain. This Fall has been a strange one for us. Every time I would plan on going out with my camera it would rain. Hum... I have not been able to capture much color this Season, but I do know brighter days lye ahead. Looking forward to some blue sky and sunny days, even if it is the next Season called winter.
God Bless you and your family Joe, and have a Blessed week.
    Your friend,Dianne :)

  13. Nice contrast between the golden leaves against the blue sky above, nice break from politics! I know we need to give a care since the policies are something we all have to deal with, including our children. Thanks for sharing your wonderful scenery there Joe, looking forward to more while I am here catching up("-")

    1. It is good to hear from you again, it really has been too long. For now the politics seem quiet but I'm not happy with where it's at. Ignorance dictated this last election's outcome and that still seems to be the strongest voice, I'm concerned about America.
